According to the catalogue for second exhibition of the Society of Mural Painters (RIBA, April 1953), this design was commissioned by His Highness Sheikh Sir Abdulla Al Subah, KCMG, CIE. for a school in  Kuwait (by the Architect: Frank Dark, FRIBA).

Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah regarded as the founder of modern Kuwait. He introduced the Constitution of Kuwait in 1962, followed by the parliament in 1963
